After months of anticipation, Giulia made her official WWE NXT debut at the No Mercy Premium Live Event. She quickly targeted Roxanne Perez and set her sights on the NXT Women’s Championship. While her in-ring abilities have impressed, some believe she needs to show more personality on WWE television.
Roxanne Perez is set to defend her NXT Women’s Championship against Giulia on the October 1st episode of NXT. So far, Giulia has managed to captivate the NXT audience with her in-ring prowess and presence in general.
While speaking during a recent episode of Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray talked about Giulia’s current run in NXT so far. While some are impressed with her, he feels she needs to display more personality to fully connect with fans. He suggested that Giulia should cut aggressive promos in Japanese, similar to how WWE successfully used Asuka during her NXT run.
Bully Ray believes that by showing more intensity and speaking directly to the camera in her native language, she could effectively communicate her determination to defeat competitors like Roxanne Perez. He added that Paul Heyman would likely advise her to do the same.
“I know I need to see more personality out of Giulia. Have her cut promos in Japanese, but have that fire. We’ve seen it from Asuka. It can work. When Asuka cuts her promos, she has a lot more fire. She’s a lot more vibrant, there’s a lot more personality.
Stare down the barrel of that camera, speak in Japanese, and let me know that you are going to defeat Roxanne. Because that’s what Paul Heyman would’ve told her to do.”
We’ll have to wait and see if Giulia can capture the NXT Women’s Championship, as many fans believe her victory is inevitable. For some, the possibility of her becoming the new champion outweighs concerns about showing more personality, as they feel her in-ring performance and potential title win are what truly matter at this stage.
