WWE Eyeing Malakai Black Return as Interest Builds

Malakai Black has been a major presence in AEW for over three years, primarily working as part of The House of Black. However, with his AEW contract set to expire in a few months, discussions about his future have surfaced. In fact, WWE’s interest in Black has now been revealed as well.

In 2022, Tony Khan mentioned that Malakai Black was under contract with AEW for five years. However, it was then reported that his deal may expire early next year. AEW is reportedly working to secure a new agreement with Black, but he has also attracted significant interest from other wrestling promotions outside of AEW. Black’s future remains uncertain as negotiations continue.

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has been wanting to get Malakai Black back to the company. Therefore, fans now wonder if that will become a reality eventually.

“WWE has been wanting him back and his wife works there and he did attempt to give notice at the time Paul Levesque got power and tried to hire back a lot of the guys that Vince fired, especially the ones in AEW. “

Malakai Black originally signed with WWE in June 2016, quickly rising to prominence in NXT where he became one of the top stars and eventually captured the NXT Championship. However, in June 2021, Black was released by WWE as part of budget cuts related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Zelina Vega previously made it clear that she wants her husband Malakai Black back in WWE. Therefore, only time will tell if Malakai Black will come back to WWE, as there is definitely a chance now.
