The highly anticipated Mr. McMahon documentary has finally been released, and wrestling fans everywhere are eager to dive into the life of the former WWE Chairman. However, it has been revealed that steps were taken behind the scenes to ensure Vince McMahon didn’t say anything that could stir further controversy during the filming process.

The series offers rare access to McMahon, who has a limited interview history, but according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the process hit a roadblock after the first Wall Street Journal article about McMahon was published. At that point, McMahon canceled all future interviews and stopped communicating with the documentary team.

‘They couldn’t follow up on it, Vince canceled all their interviews after that point. They were not able to interview Vince after the first Wall Street Journal story. That’s when Vince stopped talking to them.

Meltzer also noted that McMahon was never alone during filming, as he was always surrounded by people tasked with preventing him from making inappropriate statements. Bill Simmons, one of the documentary’s producers, mentioned this as well, adding that McMahon’s team was careful to monitor his words closely.

“At no point was Vince alone. Vince always had people around him to make sure he didn’t say the wrong thing,” Meltzer explained.

It has also been reported that hours of footage were removed from the documentary, and McMahon needed reminders about certain events throughout filming. Still, despite these precautions, McMahon made several controversial remarks in the series, leaving fans curious about what might have been left on the cutting room floor.

With Mr. McMahon now streaming, fans are left wondering just how much was left unsaid. What could Vince McMahon have revealed if not for the precautions taken during filming?
