Vince McMahon’s highly anticipated documentary, Mr. McMahon, has finally released and fans all over the world have been watching the series to know more about the infamous ex-WWE Chairman. With that said, it appears the documentary had to cut hours of unused footage.
The series has garnered significant attention from wrestling fans, as the production team was given rare access to interview the former WWE Chairman extensively. Despite McMahon’s limited interview history, many key aspects of his life have been captured in the series.
While speaking during a recent appearance on The Bill Simmons Podcast, consulting producer David Shoemaker revealed that four hours of interview footage with McMahon could not be used because he was struggling with his voice at the time, describing it as sounding like a “frog.”
Although a lot of valuable content was recorded, Shoemaker believes that the final narrative crafted by Chris Smith and his team is still impressive and compelling.
“We had four hours of Vince’s interview on the cutting room floor because he sounded like a frog one day. He didn’t have a voice. There was so much good material, but I think that the story that Chris [Smith] and his team were able to tell is pretty amazing.”
We also reported that Vince McMahon had to be reminded about a lot of things while filming the documentary. McMahon has also made a lot of controversial remarks in the documentary already, so there’s no doubt the series will be the talk of the town for a while now.
