Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley were rumored to have been in talks with both AEW and WWE, though reports indicated negotiations with AEW ultimately fell apart for a variety of reasons.

In an exclusive live Q&A with Joe Lowry, WrestleVotes reported the status of the Motor City Machine Guns in WWE. They clarified that while they did not break the news of the signing, they confirmed that the company had signed the duo.

It was also mentioned that Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley are headed to NXT, where they will help train the younger talent and share their experience as two of the best in the business.

“They are under contract. They will be heading to the NXT brand. It’s more of a signing for the future.”
