WWE’s black and gold brand is moving to The CW next week, and they brought a big show for their September 24 NXT. There were plenty of reasons to tune in, but the focus was certainly on the move to a new network.

This week on the show, they had a NXT on CW Press Conference. This recurring segment throughout the night featured Ethan Page, Ava, Trick Williams, Giulia, and Roxanne Perez.

Ethan Page was there to take the first question, where he spoke about the pressure of being NXT Champion. He mentioned carrying the roster on his back, and then he quickly moved onto the next question. He gave Trick Williams credit for being resilient, but he also stated that it won’t win him the title. Page also “personally guaranteed” that CM Punk won’t be a factor in his championship match.

Later on, they showed NXT General Manager Ava in a picture-in-picture during a match to show the conference was ongoing, but they didn’t cut to it with the audio. This conference was apparently going on throughout the entire show, but we only saw glimpses of it.

They showed Oba Femi later, and he was asked about getting booked for a contract signing during NXT next week on Miz TV, but he didn’t have a reaction. He also dismissed Tony D’Angelo’s training footage as fooling fans and his family, but he’s still not going to get the job done on Saint Louis. Then Oba Femi left without answering any more questions.

Fatal Influence was on the conference next. They were asked who will be facing Lola Vice and Jaida Parker next week. They know who will be wrestling them, but they refused to answer the question. The heel faction weren’t about giving out any good answers, as they just showed a ton of attitude. Then Parker and Vice busted through the door to argue with them as the segment ended.

Trick Williams took the microphone next, as he said that a win against Ethan Page would mean everything to him. He wants to be part of the elite group of talent who have held the NXT Title two times. He said NXT is going to reach new heights, and he must be the leader, not Ethan Page. He will do everything in his power to win the title in Chicago on October 1. Williams also mentioned Punk, saying that he doesn’t see eye-to-eye with Punk, but he must do what needs to be done.

The final portion of the press conference took place in the ring between Roxanne Perez and Giulia. Those two will battle next week on NXT, and they were ready to confront each other. The ring was turned into a set for the press conference segment with reporters at ringside. Giulia was asked if she is impressed or intimidated by Roxanne Perez’s reign, but Perez interrupted her before Giulia could speak. Giulia gave her answer in Japanese while Funaki took notes to translate. This was a very long answer in Japanese while Perez simply shook her head in confusion. Funki then translated to say that Roxanne has proven she’s a Prodigy, but her time is up. Giulia said that she’s in NXT to be Women’s Champion and The Beautiful Madness will win that title in Chicago.

Roxanne was asked her question about dealing with Giulia’s hype, and Perez admitted to being a Giulia fan before anyone else was. She said this is a dream match for Giulia, because she’s never stepped in the ring with someone like Perez, and she took credit for bringing Giulia to WWE, because Giulia came to WWE looking for her.

Giulia then asked in English what Roxanne will do when she beats her, but Perez said that’s not happening. Then Giulia was asked if she’s overconfident, and she says she feels good and America is incredible, because everything is new, except she’s still the most-feared wrestler in the world. She said that in English.

Suddenly, Stephanie Vaquer showed up on the screen. She asked Giulia what she’s going to do when Giulia has her waiting for her on the other side of her NXT Women’s Title match. This was the big surprise at the end of the segment, and it was certainly a way to end the long press conference.

This was certainly an interesting recurring segment on NXT this week. We will have to see if they ever go back to this idea, but it got the message across that next week’s episode of NXT will start a new era.
