Kenny Omega has been out of action for almost a year after he was diagnosed with diverticulitis, necessitating urgent surgery. This health issue has led him to take a break from wrestling and postpone his plans. With that said, Omega is focusing on boxing training during his time away from the ring.

Kenny Omega made his first television appearance since December on the May 1 episode of AEW Dynamite, where he shared updates on his recovery. However, his return was cut short when The Elite, along with The Young Bucks, Jack Perry, and Kazuchika Okada, attacked him, leading to his quick exit from the show.

Omega’s close friend and longtime tag team partner Kota Ibushi later confirmed that Omega has started training at his facility in Japan. In fact, Ibushi took to his Instagram and uploaded a few photos of himself alongside Kenny Omega, as Omega has now started boxing training as well.

”Kenny and I had a great workout again today!! ️Oh, the world’s Nakase-san, huh!?”
