Jey Uso Secures Spot in Exclusive WWE Club with Intercontinental Title Triumph

Jey Uso has been delivering standout performances as a babyface on Monday Night RAW and he finally became the Intercontinental Champion on RAW this week. In fact, Jey Uso made history after his win.

On the September 23 episode of Monday Night RAW, Jey Uso got a chance to fight for the WWE Intercontinental Title. When all was said and done, Jey Uso finally captured the Intercontinental Championship on WWE RAW, marking his first singles title win since joining the main roster in May 2010.

With this win, Jey Uso made history by becoming part of an exclusive WWE club. He and his father, Rikishi, are now the second father-son duo in WWE history to both hold the Intercontinental Championship. The only other pair to achieve this is Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig and his son, Curtis Axel.

Rikishi won the Intercontinental Championship in June 2000 but held the title for only 13 days before losing it to Val Venis. This was Rikishi’s only singles title reign in WWE.

In comparison, Mr. Perfect held the Intercontinental Championship twice, from April 1990 to August 1991, with a combined reign of 404 days. Curtis Axel, his son, won the title in June 2013 at Payback by defeating Wade Barrett and The Miz in a triple threat match. Axel’s reign lasted 155 days before he lost the title to Big E on an episode of RAW in November of that year.

Many fans think Jey Uso’s Intercontinental Championship win was well-earned and should have happened sooner. Now that he’s the champion, people are excited to see how WWE will handle his reign and what’s next for him in his story. Fans are curious about what will happen with Jey as champion moving forward.
