WWE’s NXT brand only has one week of television before their big CW move. October 1’s episode will take place in Chicago, while the October 8 show will go down in Saint Louis. The September 24 NXT heavily focused on that shift, and they brought quite a show for fans.
During this week’s NXT, Grayson Waller made his return to the black and gold brand for an episode of The Grayson Waller Effect. Austin Theory was also on hand with his A-Town Down Under teammate. They had NXT Tag Team Champions Axiom and Nathan Frazer on hand for this week’s show as their guests.
The NXT Arena didn’t provide Theory and Waller with the best reception, but they did receive a smattering of “Welcome Back” chants, which Waller called “cringe,” and said “I can’t wait to leave.” Then Theory made them boo even more when he told everyone to cut the booing and “make a boo sound if you’re trash.”
Then they called out their opponent for the October 8 episode of NXT, Axiom and Nathan Frazer, whom they called “Fraxiom.” Booker T seemed to like that. Waller said that Fraxiom would be great additions to SmackDown as singles stars, because their tag team isn’t lasting. Then Nathan said that “Fraxiom is fine.” In fact, they wonder when A-Town Down Under will break up.
Waller said that the standards have dropped in NXT, and he blamed Shawn Michaels. Then he said it’s a blessing that they’re going to beat them for the NXT Tag Team Titles, because they’re better off on their own without a team.
Axiom interrupted them, saying that they never planned to team up, but it happened. Now they’re on top of the tag team division. Austin Theory then reminded Fraxiom what they’ve been able to do on a weekly basis, and it doesn’t matter who they’re against, because “there are levels to this game.”
Grayson Waller said that they’re going to take those titles in two weeks, and “give them the rub” in the process. This was a heated showdown, especially after Nathan Frazer questioned why Austin Theory didn’t have his name on the Grayson Waller Effect. Austin tried to question why his name or face isn’t even on the branding for the segment.
Waller tried to explain that the branding and copyright was already in for his segment name before they even teamed up. Austin still questioned Waller on this, and then Grayson hit Nathan Frazer with a cheap shot to end the segment. Waller didn’t like the way that the segment was going at all, so he jumped into action.
We will have to see if there are any cracks showing for Grayson Waller and Austin Theory. They have been very successful as a team, but nothing can last forever. The same is true for Axiom and Nathan Frazer.
We will have to see who walks out as NXT Tag Team Champions. Tickets for the October 8 episode of NXT can be found on TicketMaster.
