Doubt Over WWE Hiring Miro Back After Potential AEW Exit

Miro made a big impression when he joined AEW in 2020, even capturing the TNT Championship early on. However, his success in the company has slowed down in recent times. He has now asked to be released from AEW, raising questions about whether WWE would consider rehiring him if he departs.

During AEW’s World’s End event last year, Miro earned a significant victory over Andrade El Idolo, with CJ Perry unexpectedly turning on Andrade during the match. Despite this major moment, Miro has been off AEW television, sparking curiosity about his current situation and what lies ahead for him in the company.

Miro initially signed a two-year deal with AEW, which was set to conclude in spring 2022. However, he extended it until spring 2026. Ongoing creative conflicts have reportedly led Miro to seek his release, as his absence from TV has stretched on. In fact, several pitches for Miro were turned down.

While speaking on his YouTube channel, Jim Cornette stated that he believes WWE will not be interested in bringing Miro back, pointing to his history of being seen as a “problem” backstage.

“Why would they want him? At this point, everybody they’ve got’s over, he lives in Bulgaria, he’s been a problem child at the other company unless he’s got some close friends there he can plead his case of complete innocence and he hasn’t acted like a stable type of individual himself.”

We have also reported the likelihood of WWE buying out Miro’s AEW contract. Regardless, only time will tell what will become of Miro in the end, as his time in AEW might be coming to a close.
