Daniel Garcia has been making headlines in wrestling lately, especially after his return to AEW at All In, which got fans talking. His heated rivalry with MJF and a great match at All Out have kept him in the spotlight. However, there’s a big story developing behind the scenes: Garcia’s AEW contract is set to expire in October, and it’s unclear what will happen next. It seems AEW is not very confident about keeping him, which adds to the excitement about his future in wrestling.
Despite AEW’s attempts to secure Daniel Garcia with a new contract, there has been no official announcement about him re-signing. The wrestling community is obviously wondering about his next move. Without a contract extension, rumors are emerging that WWE is interested in the young star. Reports indicate that both Triple H and William Regal view Garcia as a potential standout, comparing him to technical legends like Roderick Strong and Bryan Danielson.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, AEW’s confidence in Daniel Garcia re-signing with the promotion is fading. His absence from AEW programming is attributed to him not signing a new contract. When asked if his lack of TV appearances is related to this, Meltzer confirmed that it is indeed connected. He noted that AEW is hesitant to feature him on TV until he commits to a new deal.
Meltzer explained that the strong belief in Garcia’s re-signing is not as solid as it once was. While he wouldn’t say Garcia is definitely leaving, the situation feels less certain than it did a month ago. He pointed out that Garcia’s failure to sign a new contract before the last pay-per-view raised eyebrows, making people question why that happened.
“Yes, it has everything to do with that. I don’t think that they want to put him on TV until he makes the commitment…As far as what’s going to happen with him, I would say this, I would say that the almost surety or the strong confidence that he was signing, I wouldn’t say that it’s as strong. I wouldn’t say that he’s leaving either but it’s not as strong as it was a month ago. He may leave. The fact he didn’t sign before the last pay-per-view was one that is like hey, wait a minute, why didn’t he sign before the last pay-per-view? It made a difference.”
We have also reported that WWE is champing at the bit to sign Daniel Garica. Regardless, only time will tell what Daniel Garcia will do in the end as the world is truly his oyster right now.
