WWE is known for upping their game when it comes to video presentation, but a recent drop to hype the CM Punk and Drew McIntyre saga has certainly captured attention. The company’s social media surprised fans with this edit, to say the least.
This video from WWE features CM Punk’s promo from WWE RAW, where he was talking about his history with Drew McIntyre. Through his promo, the screen pans over to display what really went on during significant angles of this feud.
The clip from WWE was seamlessly edited, and whoever is responsible deserves a ton of credit. They also did a very good job showing off CM Punk and Drew McIntyre’s ongoing rivalry through this stellar viral video.
CM Punk was originally scheduled to face Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40, but a torn triceps on the road to the event derailed those plans. Despite the injury, Punk still appeared at WrestleMania, where his feud with Drew McIntyre was kicked up a notch. WWE incorporated Punk’s injury into the storyline, with McIntyre mocking Punk for it at every chance he could.
After weeks of Drew trolling Punk without any response, the Second City Savior cost McIntyre the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE Clash at the Castle: Scotland. Then Punk did it again at Money in the Bank 2024 during McIntyre’s MITB cash-in.
The Second City Saint announced he was medically cleared during the July 22 WWE RAW, and the two eventually threw down at SummerSlam 2024 with Seth Rollins as the special guest referee. Punk lost to McIntyre after an unintentional interference from Rollins in that match, but CM Punk bounced back at Bash in Berlin on August 31 where he beat McIntyre in a strap match. Following a brutal attack on Punk from McIntyre, where McIntyre finally broke Punk’s bracelet, it was revealed on the September 9 WWE RAW that the two would face off again at Bad Blood in a Hell in a Cell match.
WWE put this video on all of their social media accounts at this point, and it’s easy to see why. This kind of video should be seen as a benchmark that other editors can strive to achieve. You can check out the video below, and we will have even more updates here at Ringside News.
