Vince McMahon’s highly anticipated Netflix docuseries, titled “Mr. McMahon,” is set to debut on September 25, 2024, and promises to take a deep dive into the life of one of wrestling’s most controversial figures. The six-part series has been in development for years and is releasing at a time when McMahon is facing significant legal and personal controversies, including allegations of sexual trafficking.

The documentary is expected to cover these ongoing issues, alongside McMahon’s legendary career in the wrestling world. However, McMahon himself is not pleased with how the docuseries portrays him.

Ahead of the premiere, Vince McMahon took to Twitter to issue a statement that surprised fans. McMahon expressed disappointment, claiming the documentary “misses the mark” by confusing his on-screen character, “Mr. McMahon,” with his real-life persona. He went on to criticize the producers for using editing tricks and omitting key details, which he says distorts the overall narrative of his life and career. McMahon’s statement read:

“I don’t regret participating in this Netflix documentary. The producers had an opportunity to tell an objective story about my life and the incredible business I built, which were equally filled with excitement, drama, fun, and a fair amount of controversy and life lessons. Unfortunately, based on an early partial cut I’ve seen, this doc falls short and takes the predictable path of conflating the ‘Mr. McMahon’ character with my true self, Vince. The title and promos alone make that evident.”

He further emphasized how the documentary used footage out of context, particularly concerning a lawsuit based on an affair, which he feels was unfairly used to strengthen the idea that he is no different from his “Mr. McMahon” persona.

“A lot has been misrepresented or left out entirely in an effort to leave viewers intentionally confused. The producers use typical editing tricks with out-of-context footage and dated soundbites to distort the viewers’ perception and support a deceptive narrative,” he continued.

Despite McMahon’s criticism, fans remain eager to see how the docuseries presents his complicated legacy. The statement has already sparked mixed reactions online, with many questioning whether McMahon’s comments are an attempt at damage control ahead of more negative revelations in the series.

How to Watch “Mr. McMahon”

For those interested in watching the docuseries, “Mr. McMahon” will be available to stream on Netflix starting September 25, 2024. The series will offer a behind-the-scenes look at McMahon’s rise to power, his influence on professional wrestling, and the scandals that have followed him over the years. Fans will get a chance to form their own opinions about the man behind the WWE empire.

McMahon’s critics and supporters alike will be tuning in to see whether the series paints him as a misunderstood business visionary or reinforces the controversial figure he’s often seen as. As the wrestling world holds its breath for the release, only time will tell how “Mr. McMahon” impacts public perception of the WWE mogul.
