The Wyatt Sicks finally made their WWE debut on the June 17th edition of Monday Night RAW and in the weeks since, they have cemented themselves as a formidable force on the red brand. With that said, they were barely given any time to prepare for their debut.
Howdy and his stable unleashed chaos backstage, leaving a path of destruction and targeting numerous top WWE superstars and personnel. Chad Gable was among those visibly injured, as he was battered and bloody from their attack. In fact, many had presumed Chad Gable was basically killed off WWE television.
While many fans were drawn to the characters, much of the credit goes to those working behind the scenes, including Jason Baker, who worked closely with Bray Wyatt as well in the past.
While speaking during an interview with Alistair McGeorge from Metro, Baker talked about the memorable debut. He mentioned that they only had 15 minutes to get everything ready, but he was happy with how it turned out.
Baker called the experience “amazing” and noted that WWE was really on top of its game that night. Baker recalled that Triple H came in with a plan earlier that day, and everyone agreed to it quickly.
‘‘Let me think of the best way to say this without getting in trouble,’ he laughed, admitting that the short answer is, ‘it was amazing’ being part of a night where WWE was ‘firing on all cylinders.
We had that whole thing set up in like, 15 minutes,’ he recalled. ‘Paul [Levesque, Triple H] came in earlier that day and was like, “This is what we should do.” And everybody was like, “Yes, sir, we’re going to do it and it”.
The fraction of error is so – when you actually step back and think about it, that is insane, to do that long of a tracking shot with so many variables and so many people and so many things, and do it live in one take.’
Baker pointed out how challenging it was to pull off such a complicated live segment in one take, which added a lot of pressure. Baker also praised Triple H for believing in the team, saying that his support inspired everyone to do their best.
”We all know that he has that faith in us. So by proxy, everybody wants to do the best job that they can humanly possible, because having a boss that actually cares about you,’ he said. ‘You want to return that tenfold.”
The Wyatt Sicks also dropped a cryptic tweet ahead of this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, seemingly revealing their next target. Nonetheless, fans feel the faction has been a success so far, so we’ll have to see how WWE will continue to book them in the coming months.
