Pro wrestling fans were shocked to see Jordynne Grace show up on WWE NXT to challenge Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women’s Title at NXT Deadline 2024 in the UFC Apex. That was only the beginning, as Grace was certainly not the last TNA star to step through that Forbidden Door between the two companies. Now we have a better idea how they view the deal.

At this point, plenty of TNA stars have made NXT appearances including the Rascalz, Hammerstone, and of course Joe Hendry. Those guest spots for TNA talent on the black and gold brand have certainly shaken up a lot of things, and it certainly gave fans something new to enjoy. On the other hand, several NXT Superstars like Wendy Choo, Tatum Paxley and Wes Lee have made appearances for TNA.

During his Q&A podcast on Fightful Select, Sean Ross Sapp brought up a very interesting note. Internally, WWE and TNA Wrestling do not view this deal as a partnership, but it’s more of a talent exchange.

“I should specify that both sides say this is a talent exchange rather than a partnership.”

Triple H made it clear why WWE entered into this deal with TNA Wrestling. Their intention is to get their talent on a different stage, which would give them a new experience and valuable time in the ring. Only time will tell who becomes a part of that situation next.

This is certainly the kind of deal that would never happen under Vince McMahon’s watch. Much like WWE’s internal policy about Superstars taking outside acting gigs, that edict has changed with the new regime.

We have no idea how long this deal between WWE and TNA Wrestling will last. At this point, there doesn’t seem to be any reason to pull the plug on things, as TNA wrestlers are getting involved in some very interesting angles on television.
