The pro wrestling world is full of stories about people wanting out of their contracts. There have been a number of WWE Superstars that wanted out, and some like Ricochet decided to let their deals expire. Miro was released from WWE years ago, and he joined AEW, but a recent report stated that he has requested his release from Tony Khan’s company.

During a Q&A on Fightful Select, Sean Ross Sapp spoke about Miro’s current AEW deal. It was explained that the former Rusev initially joined AEW in September 2020, signing a year-and-a-half contract that wasn’t particularly lucrative. Miro make it clear to Tony Khan that his next contract would be significantly more profitable.

At this point, Miro is locked into that lucrative deal until 2026, so he has a ways to go on his deal. Despite making seven figures, Miro still wants out of his deal with AEW.

“Miro had originally signed with AEW in September 2020 and he signed a year and a half deal that wasn’t for an incredible amount of money. I did an interview with him and he talked about it. He said, ‘Yeah and I told Tony next contract would be big money,’ and it was. Seven figures from my understanding. But he signed that new deal in spring of 2022. So he has until spring of 2026 on his current deal.”

Tony Khan has taken some blame for Miro requesting his release from AEW. It will be interesting to see if Miro gets out of his deal, because he does have a long time to go. That, and Khan is shelling out a lot of cash to keep him under contract.

Miro is going through a lot in his life right now. He has also split up from his wife, CJ Perry. The former Lana has made remarks since that news broke, but Miro has been more silent on the matter.

We will have to see how this situation develops. You never know what will happen next in the pro wrestling world, especially when contracts are a part of the conversation. We will have all the updates you need here at Ringside News.
