AEW has experienced significant changes over the past five years, including new talent signings and updates to production values. As negotiations continue between AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery, the potential timeline for AEW pay-per-view streaming on MAX has been revealed.
We had reported that AEW’s deal with Warner Bros. Discovery had been finalized as Tony Khan even confirmed that AEW will continue airing on TBS and TNT for a long time now.
While speaking on the Mat Men podcast, Andrew Zarian reported that starting in January 2025, AEW pay-per-views will begin streaming on MAX. While they could launch sooner, the plan is currently set for January.
The pay-per-views will also be available on other platforms, similar to how WWE’s premium live events can still be ordered on Peacock. Although specific pricing details haven’t been shared, it’s expected that the events will be simulcast, but it’s unclear if this will start at the beginning of the MAX deal or later on.
”I will say that they will be on MAX in January, they could do it sooner but I do know that they are planning on January. I do know that pay-per-views are gonna be on there. They don’t have an exclusivity on the pay-per-views, so they will be available on other places like WWE, you know you can still order the PLEs that are on Peacock. I don’t know the pricing, I never asked. I am very certain they will be simulcasting, that’s part of what’s in the works but I Don’t know if it will be from the beginning of the MAX deal or later on, but they will be there.”
We have also reported the estimated value of Warner Bros. Discovery’s TV rights deal with AEW, which is around $170 million. Therefore, we’ll have to see whether AEW pay-per-views will start streaming on MAX from next year, as that would be a huge step for Tony Khan’s company.
What do you think of AEW pay-per-views finally being available on MAX from next year? Do you feel AEW will see even more success in 2025? Let us know in the comments section below!
