Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan has become a regular in SmackDown dark matches, often defending her title or teaming up with ‘Dirty’ Dominik Mysterio. After this week’s SmackDown went off the air, Morgan successfully defended her title against a rising star in the women’s division—Lyra Valkyria.

Valkyria has been making strides since her main roster call-up this year. She is engaged in a feud with the Pure Fusion Collective, but she has been building her reputation for a while now. She notably dethroned Becky Lynch to win the NXT Women’s Championship and reached the Queen of the Ring finals, where she lost to the dominant Nia Jax.

Following the conclusion of the September 20 edition of SmackDown, Liv Morgan and Lyra Valkyria squared off against each other in a first-time-ever bout. It was an evenly contested matchup but Liv Morgan ultimately prevailed after hitting The Oblivion on Valkyria for the win.

Liv Morgan is currently set to square off against Rhea Ripley at the Bad Blood Premium Live Event in October, so we will have to wait and see who will ultimately triumph in the match, as the stakes couldn’t be higher.
