LA Knight competed in a big match on WWE SmackDown this week, but things didn’t go smoothly toward the end. During the match, Knight botched one of his signature moves several times, and he has since addressed the slip-up.

This year, Knight has been focused on singles success, especially after failing to capture the world title. Shifting his sights to the United States Championship, he eventually challenged Logan Paul and won the title at SummerSlam. Since then, Knight has defended his championship a few times

During the September 20 edition of SmackDown, Knight took on Andrade in a tough contest. Both superstars gave it their all, but during a critical moment, Knight attempted to leap onto the top rope for a superplex and slipped. After slipping a second time, he finally made it to the top rope, only for Andrade to counter by dropping down. Despite the mishap, the fans were entertained by the botch, and in the end, Knight managed to defeat Andrade and retain his title.

While speaking during a SmackDown Exclusive, LA Knight shared his thoughts on Andrade following their hard-fought match. Knight described Andrade as a tough opponent and admitted that the match could have gone either way at certain points. He explained that competing in the ring is like a game of inches and chances, where anything can happen. Knight addressed his botch and stated that despite some close calls, he managed to land his finishing move, securing his victory and retaining the United States Championship.

“Let me talk to ya. I’ll tell you what my assessment is. You talk about Andrade, you talk about a guy who is double tough, I can’t deny that. Here’s the thing. Look, this is such a game out there. You can say it’s a game of inches, you can say it’s a game of chances, you can damn sure say you’re playing roulette out there. Things almost didn’t go my way. It was this close. I mean, you’re talking the short and curlies here.

The deal is, look, if I don’t catch you with the one, you bet I’ll catch you with the other, and that’s exactly what happened, one BFT for your trouble. So any night, any man can come out on top, but believe this, every single night it’s gonna be LA Knight. Now, look, I think little chirping ‘Melo was running around, saying it would be a different outcome if he was in the match. Huh? Brother, we’ve already been there. The story’s already been told. You lose, you blew it. Every time, nothing changes there. So I’ll tell you what, you guys have a little fun. I’m gonna go on moving on, like I always do, hit it and quit it. Because nobody, and I’m telling you nobody, can take this thing off of me. Why? Because I pledge allegiance to the champ of the United States of America. Yeah.”

We will have to wait and see how LA Knight will be booked as the United States Champion in the coming weeks as fans are certainly more than happy with his current reign as the United States Champion till now.
