Former WWE commentator Jonathan Coachman was part of the company for many memorable moments, but he hasn’t been with WWE for some time. With that said, he shared what conditions would need to be met for him to consider a return.
Jonathan Coachman debuted in WWE back in 1999 as an interviewer, commentator, and presenter and would then become an authority figure in 2003. He would then part ways with WWE in 2008 before returning in January 2018 as a Raw commentator. However, he was replaced in September of that year, and Coachman hasn’t been seen since then.
While speaking during an interview with Cafe de Rene, Jonathan Coachman talked about the possibility of returning to WWE under Triple H’s leadership. He mentioned that he would only come back if the situation was right.
Coachman stated that he wouldn’t want to do a three-man commentary booth again. Instead, he would either like to be a high-level manager or return as his heel character, saying he can quickly transform from a nice guy to heel Coach.
“Would I go back now? It would have to be the right situation. I would never do a three-man booth again. And I would only go back and either be a really high-level manager or I would be my heel, you know, heel Coach character. You know, I always walk around with these [wears his glasses], you know what I mean? And, you know, I transform from the nice guy to heel Coach like that [snaps his fingers].”
Interestingly enough, Jonathan Coachman previously claimed that he would never go back to WWE after the poor treatment he received there. Nonetheless, we’ll have to see whether Coachman will make his WWE comeback somewhere down the line.
