Tony Khan has become a pioneer in the wrestling business with the inception of his promotion, AEW, in 2019 and making it a direct competitor to the global giant of wrestling, WWE.

The AEW President and CEO was once again asked about the possibility of a joint AEW-WWE show during an appearance on Maggie & Perloff. When pressed about the idea of the two rival promotions collaborating, Khan remained open but cautious. He left room for speculation by stating that in the distant future, “anything could happen,” even within the next 100 years.

“I can’t say ever. Anything could happen at some point. It’s hard to say. What’s the timeline? In the next 100 years, quite possibly.”

When specifically asked about the possibility of an AEW-WWE joint event within the next five years, Tony Khan responded that it seemed “far less likely”, considering their status as direct competitors. For now, Tony Khan seems focused and also tight-lipped on expanding AEW with upcoming shows and deals, remaining positive about a long-term association with TBS and TNT.

It remains a highly speculative topic, with no concrete plans or discussions for a collaboration anytime soon. As Khan indicated, while it’s not entirely out of the question, fans shouldn’t expect such an event in the near future. So, only time will tell if the two companies ever come together for a massive crossover event.
