Tony Khan has a number of stars on his payroll with incredible potential. It’s easy to see that Red Velvet has grabbed every opportunity that she could, and she continues to bring attention to herself.
Red Velvet turned heads on the September 19th episode of ROH on HonorClub, proudly debuting a newly customized ROH Women’s Television Championship featuring a striking red strap. This bold change marks her personal touch on the title, which had previously sported a traditional black strap in prior appearances.
Red Velvet’s reign as ROH Women’s TV Champion started at ROH Death Before Dishonor 2024, where she clinched the title from rising star Billie Starkz. Since then, the new champion has wasted no time in making the title her own, following in the footsteps of other wrestlers who have customized their belts, much like how the TNT Championship in AEW has seen personalized versions.
The wrestling world quickly took to social media to share their thoughts on Velvet’s new look for the title. The trend of personalized belts as a way for champions to leave their mark on their reigns is becoming frequent.
On the same episode, Velvet squared off against Allysin Kay in a Proving Ground match, further cementing her position as a fighting champion. Velvet, who has been actively competing in both AEW and ROH, had been sidelined by an injury revealed on AEW Dynamite in June. However, she made a triumphant return to AEW television on the November 23 episode of Dynamite and has since been a force to be reckoned with.
Fans will certainly be keeping a close eye on what’s next for the new face of ROH’s women’s division. Keep checking back with Ringside News for more on this story and everything else going on in the pro wrestling world.
