On September 20, MJF broke his silence on Twitter/X in response to a fan who commented on the much-discussed “bidding war of 2024,” suggesting that every promotion but AEW seemed to be involved. In classic MJF fashion, he dropped a major hint that he may have already re-signed with AEW. His response implied that he quietly signed a multi-million dollar contract, with AEW emerging victorious in keeping him.

“It’s almost like MJF quietly signed a multi-million dollar contract and AEW won or something?!?!? Wild stuff.”

After deleting the original post, MJF followed up with a tongue-in-cheek apology, jokingly claiming his finger slipped while shooting a movie, ending his message with a blunt “Blow me.”

Despite his absence after losing the AEW World Championship at AEW World’s End due to injury, MJF returned at AEW Double or Nothing earlier this year, where he made it clear he wasn’t going anywhere. AEW President Tony Khan even expressed confidence that MJF was back in AEW for the long haul.
