WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry, who parted ways with AEW earlier this year, has been keeping busy with several projects since his exit. As a veteran of the wrestling business, Henry is no stranger to the behind-the-scenes traditions that have long been a part of the industry, including the infamous “wrestler’s court.” Recently, Henry spoke out about claims of bullying associated with this backstage practice, setting the record straight on what it was really about.

During a recent episode of Huge Pop!, Henry addressed concerns that wrestler’s court was a form of bullying. He emphasized that these sessions were more about entertainment than anything else. Henry explained that wrestler’s court was a light-hearted tradition meant to poke fun at wrestlers, not to humiliate or intimidate them.

“The World’s Strongest Man” suggested that the idea of bullying stems from people who took the proceedings too seriously. According to Henry, anyone who felt pressured could easily diffuse the situation by “relaxing with a drink.” He even shared that the judge’s decision could often be swayed by a simple bribe—usually a bottle of Jack Daniels.

“It’s not bullying, it’s meant to entertain,” Henry said. “I think the people that were in wrestler’s court and took it so seriously that they felt bullied—all they had to do was go and buy a bottle of Jack Daniels. The number one rule was that the judge could always be bought. All you had to do was drop about 23 bucks, 25 bucks, go buy a bottle of Jack Daniels, and then sit it on the counter.”

While Mark Henry clearly enjoyed the lighter side of wrestler’s court, not everyone in the wrestling world feels the same way. CM Punk, for example, has been vocal about his disdain for the concept when it was used in WWE. However, Henry remains firm in his belief that wrestler’s court was a fun tradition, and he doesn’t see it as anything harmful.
