AEW’s lineup is packed with solid matchups that are still on the horizon. Ever since Ricochet joined AEW, fans have eagerly anticipated his eventual clash with Will Ospreay. The highly anticipated showdown is now set for October 2nd. In the lead-up to this bout, Ospreay has issued a serious warning to Ricochet, further intensifying the excitement surrounding their encounter.
On the September 18 episode of AEW Dynamite, Ricochet came face-to-face with Will Ospreay and wasted no time declaring his intent to challenge the International Champion. Ricochet revealed that he had spoken with Tony Khan, who confirmed that their match is officially set for AEW Dynamite’s 5-Year Anniversary show in Pittsburgh, PA, on October 2.
While speaking in a digital exclusive following the conclusion of AEW Dynamite, Will Ospreay addressed his upcoming match against Ricochet. He reflected on how much they’ve both changed since their match at the Best of Super Juniors eight years ago. He dismissed Ricochet’s attempt to belittle him, questioning who he was trying to fool.
Ospreay emphasized that while Ricochet may have been away for six years, he spent that time revolutionizing the game and is no longer the same person. Confident in his accomplishments, Ospreay stated he has nothing to prove, putting the pressure on Ricochet to show his worth. He challenged Ricochet to bring everything he had for their upcoming five-year anniversary match, reminding everyone, including MJF and PAC, that there’s no one on his level.
”Mate we are completely different people than we were 8 years ago at the Best of Super Juniors and you try to lil bro me? Bruv, who are you trying to kid? Mate, you might have been on this six year hiatus, right? In six years I changed the game, I’m not the same person I was 8 years ago, son. I ain’t gotta prove nothing to no one, if anything you’ve gotta prove something to me. So I dare you to bring everything you’ve got at the 5-year anniversary, because everyone finds out, MJF and PAC, there’s a reason why there isn’t a list, because there is no one and I mean no one, on my level boss.”
We will have to wait and see whether Will Ospreay will be able to retain his title against Ricochet on the October 2nd edition of AEW Dynamite, as there is undoubtedly a ton of for their match now.
