Few people have bridged their way from pro wrestling to popular culture like Ric Flair. He is an icon in the world of sports and hip-hop culture at this point. He is also very aware of the sporting world, and The Nature Boy didn’t hold back his football hot take on Thursday.

Ric Flair took to Twitter on September 19 to voice his frustration with sports commentator Paul Finebaum. In a passionate tweet, one what used Flair’s trademark capitalizing every word method, Flair didn’t hold back. He reminded Finebaum of some of his past comments about college football figures, while also defending his friend Deion Sanders and college football coach Lincoln Riley.

The two-time WWE Hall of Famer started off by referencing a past statement Paul Finebaum made on ESPN’s First Take, where Finebaum allegedly doubted that Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh would ever land a job in the NFL. Flair sarcastically pointed out that the Los Angeles Chargers, currently 2-0, proved Finebaum wrong, while Harbaugh also led Michigan to a national championship.

“Throwback! Hey Paul Finebaum, do you remember telling everybody on First Take that Coach Harbaugh would never get a job in the NFL as the Chargers are currently 2-0, and Harbaugh won the national championship! HA!” Ric Flair tweeted.

Ric Flair’s frustrations didn’t stop there. He took issue with Finebaum’s recent appearance on First Take, where Finebaum debated Deion Sanders’ coaching skills with sports personality Stephen A. Smith. Flair made it clear that he’s in Sanders’ corner.

“Now you have the audacity to jump on Prime Time to debate with the great Stephen A. Smith about my friend Deion Sanders! You better pray to God that @UMichFootball beats @uscfb after the terrible things you’ve said about Lincoln Riley, who I will defend forever,” Flair wrote.

The tweet wrapped up with Flair taking a shot at Finebaum’s network, boasting about his own popularity and warning Finebaum that if Michigan fails to beat USC, he’ll never hear the end of it. He also dropped the treasured “jabroni” insult from the pro wrestling world that has also bridged its way into popular culture.

“Know your role, JABRONI! Pray that Michigan wins because you will never hear the end of it. I have more followers than your entire network! WOOOOO!”

Ric Flair’s tweet was full of his trademark energy and humor. Naturally, it quickly caught the attention of fans and stirred up excitement across social media. With both Michigan and USC gearing up for a highly anticipated matchup, the pressure is on, and Ric Flair clearly has strong opinions on the outcome.
