WWE has many former wrestlers backstage in producer roles, and two former NWA World Champions are currently serving as General Managers for RAW and SmackDown. This is a low-key fact, as Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis proved themselves in the ring years before they wore suits on WWE television. That brought many fans to wonder what might happen if they ever get in the ring to face each other.

After WWE Raw General Manager Adam Pearce hinted at a potential in-ring return to face SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis, Aldis wasted no time in responding on social media.

Nick Aldis took to Twitter, and his response may disappoint fans. Then again, he closed things out with the tried and true “time will tell” line.

“After much deliberation, I have decided to respond to this post by my Raw counterpart. We both enjoyed a decorated tenure in our careers before WWE; there is no doubt you & I respect the legacy and tradition of our industry. So, you’re asking if I would step in the ring with you?… Time will tell.”

Nick Aldis’ response was to a video posted on social media in which Adam Pearce addressed a fan’s question about whether he would return to the ring to take on Aldis. Pearce reiterated comments he made last month on a podcast, where he left the door open for an in-ring showdown with the SmackDown GM.

Nick Aldis recently made headlines for organizing a major match featuring Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes teaming up to face Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu at WWE Bad Blood. The next WWE premium live event will go down in Atlanta’s State Farm Arena, and tickets can be purchased on TicketMaster.

Meanwhile, Adam Pearce has been busy managing the chaos on RAW, and he’s not afraid to lay down the law when the situation calls for it. Only time will tell what’s next for him.

With both men’s illustrious careers as former in-ring competitors and their current high-profile positions, the idea of an Aldis vs. Pearce match is generating significant buzz among WWE fans.

What do you think will happen? Will these two GMs clash in the ring? Does the storyline write itself for Survivor Series? Drop your thoughts in the comments below!
