Mercedes Moné, the current AEW TBS Championship and the NJPW Strong Women’s Champion has made a significant impact since joining AEW, bringing with her a reputation for generating buzz and big money and making a huge claim amidst her ongoing success.

Ringside News exclusively reported Mercedes Moné is getting preferential treatment at AEW events, which includes having her own private locker room and being accompanied by her personal entourage which has allegedly caused some friction with other AEW stars, such as Saraya and Britt Baker.

Despite that, in a recent issue of her Newsletter, Moné Mag, Mercedes praised AEW’s progress, expressing excitement about the company’s future and their potential to grow even further, particularly in light of AEW’s partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery.

Moreover, Mone also addressed critics, noting the company’s rapid evolution in just five years, comparing its progress to other wrestling promotions and claiming that the business has been on fire ever since she burst on the scene back in March 2024.

“Money changes everything, and ever since Mercedes Moné hit the scene, the business has been on fire! Have fun with that, my Moné Haters. Seriously, the future of wrestling looks bright, and it’s just exciting to see where wrestling is going to be in the next five years. AEW has come so far, and these rumors flying around about their next big moves? I’m here for it. I’m excited to see where we end up, but we’ve got to stay patient. This company is just five years old. I defy anyone to compare our progress at this mark to any other company, past or present. With our talent roster and this move, I also think more opportunities will come as WB and Discovery are big ponds to play in. AEW already has a ton of programming and content to offer, but there is a lot of potential and room for more. Your CEO is here to help with all of it.”

As Mercedes Moné continues her journey in AEW, her VIP treatment is expected to continue, thanks to the lucrative contract she signed with Tony Khan, who has made sure to secure top-tier talent like her for the promotion’s future. So, it will be interesting to see if Mercedes’ star power will continue to generate more buzz for AEW as the start-up promotion continues to make strides in the wrestling industry.
