AEW legend and commentator Jim Ross has just provided a major update on his status for the upcoming Grand Slam event in New York City, and fans have plenty to look forward to!

After battling health issues over the past year, Ross has consistently been a key voice for AEW’s biggest pay-per-views in 2024. Most recently, JR was on commentary for the epic Bryan Danielson vs. Swerve Strickland main event at All In London, as well as the brutal Lights Out Steel Cage Match between Hangman Adam Page and Swerve Strickland at All Out.

Now, during the latest episode of his Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross confirmed that he’ll be back behind the mic for the highly anticipated Grand Slam event at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City. While JR typically sticks to pay-per-views, AEW Grand Slam is shaping up to be one of the year’s biggest Dynamite episodes—so it’s no surprise the Hall of Famer will be on the call.

Already announced for Grand Slam, AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson will go head-to-head with Nigel McGuinness for the first time in 15 years. In addition, Jon Moxley will take on Darby Allin in a high-stakes match, with Darby fighting for a shot at the AEW World Title. Plus, The Young Bucks will defend their AEW World Tag Team Championships against the dynamic duo of Will Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher.
