Adam Cole’s ankle injury, sustained at AEW Grand Slam last year with fractures in three different areas, has heavily impacted his wrestling career. While there’s no clear timeline for his return to the ring, he was spotted backstage during this week’s episode of Dynamite, keeping fans hopeful for his comeback.
Although Adam Cole has been sidelined due to injury, he’s continued to make notable appearances on AEW television. In December at AEW World’s End, he shocked the audience by turning heel on MJF, leading to the formation of The Undisputed Kingdom alongside Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, Roderick Strong, and Wardlow.
Cole’s latest on-screen moment came during AEW Double or Nothing in May, where he cut a powerful promo that led to MJF’s comeback from injury. MJF responded by destroying Cole in the ring.
According to PWInsider, Adam Cole was backstage during the September 18th edition of AEW Dynamite in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Naturally, this gives fans hope he will return sooner rather than later.
”Adam Cole was backstage at tonight’s AEW Dynamite taping in Wilkes-Barre, PA.”
It was also reported that Adam Cole’s return to the ring has been delayed due to the severity of his injury. Nonetheless, only time will tell when Adam Cole will be ready to make his in-ring return, as it still might be a while.
