WWE is the global juggernaut of professional wrestling and they are ever-changing, which is why they are always improving various aspects of their business. This includes locking in talent to contracts and it appears they have ramped up efforts to secure talent before their contracts expire.
The company locked Sheamus into a new deal recently and this was simply one of many so far. In fact, we have reported that Cedric Alexander was one of several top WWE talents whose contracts were going to expire in 2024, with many, like Shayna Baszler, Sheamus, Seth Rollins, and Randy Orton, already renewing their deals.
According to Sean Ross Sapp, it was confirmed that WWE has been approaching talent much earlier before their contracts expire lately, which means the company is determined to secure as many talent as possible.
”Can confirm WWE has been approaching talent much earlier ahead of their contracts expiring of late.”
This is clearly a different stance from what the company used to do earlier, where they waited until the last minute or let contracts expire before having Superstars sign new deals. Regardless, we’ll have to wait and see if more talent will sign contracts this year, as the company is already pursuing three key talent already.
