AEW arrived in Wilkes-Barre, PA, on Wednesday, September 18, at the Mohegan Sun Arena for that evening’s episode of AEW Dynamite. This week’s show built significant momentum toward Grand Slam, and Jon Moxley was present to further his ongoing storyline.

Jon Moxley sent shockwaves through the pro wrestling community at All Out when he suffocated Bryan Danielson with a plastic bag after the AEW World Heavyweight Title match. That bold move prompted him to attempt an explanation during the opening segment of the September 11 AEW Dynamite.

The Blackpool Combat Club was also featured on AEW Dynamite this week, with a focus on Wheeler Yuta. He expressed his disapproval of Moxley’s actions at All Out, leading to a tense moment where the others had to restrain him during the segment. Nevertheless, Pac and Claudio emphasized the importance of Yuta’s presence as they defended the AEW Trios Titles, urging him to return to Dynamite next week. Then it was Jon Moxley’s turn to speak.

The former AEW World Champion expressed his belief that Wheeler Yuta possesses the strength to make the right choice. Moxley reassured Yuta that he isn’t trapped and that it’s ultimately his decision, but he also reminded him of his responsibility to the greater good. He urged Yuta to consider, “What kind of man did they teach you to be?”

It appears Jon Moxley may be somewhat preoccupied as he tries to persuade Wheeler Yuta to return to the BCC in time for Grand Slam next week. Yuta acknowledged that his mind has been chaotic, but he remains committed to not backing down from a match at Grand Slam. That open challenge was soon picked up by Private Party.

Jon Moxley will face off against Darby Allin in a singles match that will determine Allin’s opportunity for the AEW World Championship. The winner of this highly anticipated matchup will go on to challenge Bryan Danielson at WrestleDream.

We will have to see what happens on September 25 in Arthur Ashe Stadium. Tickets are still available for the event, and they are on sale at TicketMaster.
