After leaving NJPW, Jay White had several opportunities but decided to join AEW. Unfortunately, his momentum was interrupted when he was sidelined due to an injury. During his current hiatus from AEW television, his return status has been revealed.
White’s last match was on July 6, where he suffered a loss to Hangman Page in the Owen Hart Foundation tournament. Due to his injury, The Bang Bang Gang were forced to relinquish the 6-man titles as well.
While speaking on Fightful Select’s Q&A podcast, Sean Ross Sapp was asked about Jay White’s current status and if he is any close to an in-ring return. Sapp noted that AEW had hoped to have Jay White back in time for AEW All In, but he wasn’t medically cleared when he appeared on AEW Dynamite the week before the event.
Jay White’s status remains unchanged, and although AEW was optimistic he could participate in the Casino Gauntlet, he still has not been cleared to return to in-ring action.
”AEW was hoping to have him back for AEW All In, but he went to AEW Dynamite the week before the trip over to the UK and he didn’t get cleared. His status hasn’t changed. They were hopeful he could do the Casino Gauntlet.”
Only time will tell when Jay White will be able to make his triumphant return to AEW television and get back into the thick of things again, as fans most definitely miss him right now.
