It looks like AEW Rampage might be facing cancellation as AEW’s growing partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery moves in new directions. According to rumors, Tony Khan’s strong relationship with the network has led to significant developments, and one of those may include replacing Rampage with a new show, potentially called AEW Shockwave.

AEW has already taken steps to focus its content on Warner Bros. Discovery platforms, even canceling AEW Dark on YouTube. Now, it seems the promotion is ready to expand beyond just cable TV, with reports suggesting Shockwave could find a home on FOX or another major broadcast network.

According to The Wrestling Observer, Rampage may not continue as AEW shifts its attention to bigger opportunities with broadcast networks like ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, Telemundo, Univision, CW, or ION.

“One source indicated this past week that AEW Rampage would not be continued and that AEW’s new third show, likely called Shockwave, would be the show being shopped around to FOX and possibly others. John Ourand noted that AEW is primarily pitching another package to broadcast channels, which would include networks such as ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, Telemundo, Univision, CW, or ION.”

John Ourand of Puck News recently mentioned that AEW is actively pitching this new package, including AEW Shockwave, to various broadcast networks. While it’s still unclear which network will pick up the show, fans are buzzing with excitement about AEW potentially expanding to a wider audience on a major network.

While Rampage has been a staple of AEW’s weekly programming, it appears the company is positioning itself for growth. Internally, there’s been a lot of speculation about what this new deal could mean for the company and how much the agreement with FOX—or another network—will be worth. However, only time will tell whether AEW Rampage will truly come to an end.

What do you think about the possibility of AEW Rampage being replaced? Could AEW Shockwave be the next big thing for AEW, or do you think Rampage still has a place in the company’s future? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
