Pete Dunne has been playing a villain since turning on Sheamus earlier this year on Monday Night RAW. For a long time, he was known as “Butch,” and it seems WWE had planned for fans to chant “Butch” well ahead of time.

Dunne had been in a heated rivalry with Sheamus on Monday Night RAW recently, blaming his former Brawling Brutes teammate for derailing his career by changing his name to Butch.

Fightful Select reports that sources close to WWE’s creative team confirmed the company had been planning for “Butch” chants directed at Pete Dunne for about a month.

Sheamus managed to defeat Dunne on the August 19th episode of WWE Raw, but Dunne avenged the loss by beating Sheamus on the September 16th episode of Monday Night RAW. In fact, Pete Dunne also confirmed that his feud with The Celtic Warrior is over, so we’ll have to see what’s next in store for The Bruiserweight.
