It’s Tuesday night and you know what that means! WWE NXT will go down tonight, and Ringside News has got you covered with live play-by-play results coverage for the September 17, 2024 episode.

The show opens up with a video highlighting everything that transpired on last week’s NXT. Vic Joseph and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T then welcomes us to the show as NXT General Manager Ava is already waiting inside the ring for the contract signing between WWE NXT Champion “All Ego” Ethan Page and Trick Williams.
Ava starts off by announcing that Sexyy Red will be making her return to NXT on October 8, “The Viper” Randy Orton will be competing in his first ever match on NXT on that same show and The Miz will be hosting a special edition of MizTV on October 1. Ava then introduces Trick Williams and Williams makes his way down to the ring. Williams says he’s the Last Man Standing after defeating Pete Dunne last week. Williams then says two weeks from now, more history will be made when he wins back the NXT Championship from Ethan Page. Page’s music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring. Page mocks Williams’ fans for cheering for him and Williams tells Page that he and the fans don’t like it. Page then says while Williams has every right to be confident, he’s not Dunne. Page then says he happens to be Williams’ kryptonite as is evident with the NXT Championship. Williams then says since Page stole the NXT Championship from him, he’s been running from him but that stops on October 1. Page then disputes Williams’ statement that he stole the NXT Championship from him and says he both earned it and won it. Page then says he remembers the shocked and surprised looks on everyone’s faces when he won the NXT Championship including Williams and on October 1, Williams will have a different look on his face when he retains his title to continue the Era of Ego. Williams then says Page is crazy and tells him that when they meet for the NXT Championship, people won’t be cheering him on. Page then responds by hitting an Ego’s Edge on Williams though the table set up in the ring, then leaves the ring without signing the contract and Williams has not signed the contract either.
We then get a video from last week of a frustrated Tony D’Angelo confronting Hammerstone after he paid him to defeat WWE NXT North American Champion Oba Femi, but he was unable to do so. D’Angelo then demands that Hammerstone get himself a rematch for the title, but Hammerstone declines to do so. Tony D’Angelo then challenged Hammerstone to a match.
Lyra Valkyria and Tatum Paxley then make their way down to the ring for the first match of the night, which is a Tag Team Match.
Vic Joseph then plugs CM Punk and MizTV for the CW debut.
We then head to the back, where “The Young OG” Je’von Evans and Cedric Alexander approaches Ava who was chatting with Mr. Stone and Stevie Turner. Evans asks for a match at the St. Louis show and Ava says she’ll think about it.
TNA’s Rosemary and Wendy Choo then make their way down to the ring for the first match of the night.
The match starts off with Rosemary and Paxley. Paxley sends Rosemary crashing into the mat face first, but Rosemary responds with a mat return. Valkyria then tags in and trips Rosemary, then hits Rosemary with a double elbow drop with Paxley and goes for a pin but Rosemary kicks out. Paxley then tags back in and hits a double ax handle off the top as Valkyria holds Rosemary in place. Rosemary then rolls up Paxley, but Paxley kicks out. Choo then tags in and Paxley hits a crossbody on Choo in the corner, then tags Valkyria back in. Rosemary then tags in and looks to hit a double suplex on Valkyria with Choo, but Paxley saves Valkyria. Valkyria and Paxley then hit a double dropkick on Rosemary and Choo and hit a second one through the middle rope. Paxley then delivers some forearms on Choo. Rosemary then tags in and Choo suplexes Paxley before both women double team on her. Rosemary then goes for a pin, but Paxley kicks out. Paxley then hits Rosemary with an enzuigiri and looks to tag in Valkyria, but Choo tags in and prevents her from doing so.
Paxley then manages to tag in Valkyria and Valkyria hits a Northern Lights suplex on Choo. Valkyria then goes to cover Choo, but Choo kicks out. Paxley then tags back in and hits a backbreaker on Choo and Valkyria follows it up with a leg drop off the ropes. Rosemary then sends Valkyria out of the ring as Paxley gets Choo up on her shoulders, but Choo escapes. Choo and Paxley then teeter on the ropes, but Choo hits a superplex on Paxley off the middle rope. Rosemary then follows it up with a spear on Paxley and goes for a pin, but Paxley gets her foot on the bottom rope to break the hold. Choo and Rosemary then look to double team on Paxley, but Valkyria trips Choo as she runs the ropes. Paxley then sends Rosemary crashing into the mat and tags in Valkyria, who then hits a leg drop on Rosemary for the win.

Separate shots of Hammerstone and Tony D’Angelo were then shown.
We then see No Quarter Catch Crew hanging out backstage. Charlie Dempsey thanks Tavion Heights for making them proud in Japan. Dempsey then tells Wren Sinclair to do them proud by making a name for herself. Wren then fires herself up and chops Dempsey in the chest.
The D’Angelo Family then make their way down to the ring for the next match of the night and Hammerstone follows.
The match starts off with both men locking up. We then see WWE NXT North American Champion Oba Femi watching the action from backstage as D’Angelo hits a couple of suplexes and a spinebuster on Hammerstone. Hammerstone then responds with a couple of clotheslines and sends D’Angelo crashing into the corner, then delivers some strikes on D’Angelo and sends him into the opposite corner. Hammerstone then hits a belly-to-belly suplex on D’Angelo. D’Angelo then slides out of the ring and the referee begins a ten count, but instead of trying to beat it, D’Angelo stays on the outside and slowly heads to the back as the referee finishes it and calls for the bell.
The winner of the Singles Match via countout, TNA’s Hammerstone!
TNA X-Division Champion Zachary Wentz then appears at ringside looking to explain why he and Trey Miguel were unable to challenge for the WWE NXT Tag Team Championship last week. Wentz then calls for surveillance footage to be played of Wes Lee attacking Miguel prior to the match in Dayton, Ohio as Miguel was getting in a car. Wentz then vents his frustrations with Lee’s actions and warns Lee of that the pain he’s going to put him through in their Street Fight on October 1. Wentz then says this ends in Chicago.
We then head to NXT General Manager Ava’s office, where NBA star Tyrese Haliburton assures Ava he can get the contract for the WWE NXT Championship Match between Trick Williams and Ethan Page on October 1 signed and Ava agrees.
Ashante “Thee” Adonis then makes his way down to the ring for the next match of the night, which is a Singles Match.
Sarah Schreiber is then shown interviewing Fatal Influence about their feud with Jaida Parker. They then talk trash. Jacy Jayne then talks about how they are taking over the division. Lola Vice is then shown shadowboxing in the locker room. Jaida Parker then shows up. Lola and Jaida then talk about how they don’t want each other’s help. Lola then says Parker can take care of Fatal Influence once she’s done with them.
Eddy Thorpe then makes his way down to the ring for the next match of the night.
The match starts off with Adonis wasting no time in going after Thorpe. Adonis delivers some stomps on Thorpe in the corner. Thorpe then responds with a series of strikes on Adonis in the corner and hits him with a back suplex, but Adonis responds with a couple of knees on Thorpe’s midsection and nails him. Adonis then hits a drop toe hold on Thorpe that sends him crashing into the ropes and both men exchange strikes with each other. Adonis then dropkicks Thorpe out of the ring and climbs to the top, then flies to land on him and sends him back in the ring before climbing back up to the top and looking to fly. Thorpe then sees him coming and hits him with an elevated flatliner for the win.

“The Best In The World” CM Punk was then shown walking through the hallways.
Vic Joseph then plugs WWE’s upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event show.
We then get a promo from Chase U’s Thea Hail and Riley Osborne. Thea says she was disappointed that Ridge Holland let them down. Thea then says Holland broke her heart after putting her trust in him. Riley then talks about how he’s going to get Ridge Holland out of their lives once and for all.
CM Punk then makes his way down to the ring to address the WWE NXT Universe. Punk starts off by saying he wanted to get his business out of the way last night on RAW in order to have some fun tonight. Punk then admits to seeing some familiar faces in the audience after watching NXT from ringside while he was recovering from his torn triceps at the Performance Center, then lists off a few names he hopes to share the ring with one day in the future. Punk then says he asked Shawn Michaels to be part of the NXT CW show on October 1 in Chicago, Illinois and Michaels agreed to let him do whatever he wanted. Punk then adds that he came up with a special idea.
WWE NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez’s music then hits and she makes her way down to the ring. Perez apologizes to Punk for interrupting him and says 13 year old her would be freaking out if she could see her sharing the ring with Punk. Perez then tells Punk that he’s one of the main reasons she’s in WWE and says that as the “Voice of the Voiceless”, he was always her voice. Perez then tells Punk that she always preferred AJ Lee to him, then says she was excited to see him return to WWE at Survivor Series: WarGames last year. Perez then says now that she’s standing face-to-face in the ring with Punk, she realizes she should have been a Drew McIntyre fan in the first place. Perez then says Chicago will no longer be Punk’s town when she retains the NXT Women’s Championship against Giulia on October 1. Perez then says she doesn’t care how big Giulia is in Japan because she’s big around the globe and is untouchable. Punk then tells Perez that while she might think he’s upset she interrupted him, he actually appreciates it. Punk then says he used to have a chip on his shoulder like Perez does and the NXT Women’s Championship makes her the best in possibly all of WWE. Punk then recalls thinking that Perez would have fit perfectly into the match between IYO SKY and Bianca Belair last night, but that doesn’t matter with her title defense against Giulia quickly approaching.
Giulia’ music then hits and she makes her way down to the ring. Giulia stares down Perez and tells her that the countdown is on until she dethrones her as NXT Women’s Champion. Giulia then tells Perez that she has two weeks left and looks to leave the ring. Perez then looks to nail Giulia with the NXT Women’s Championship, but Punk stops her.
We then head to the back, where Sarah Schreiber is interviewing WWE NXT Women’s North American Champion Kelani Jordan. Jordan says Fallon Henley talked about her ducking out on them. Jordan then says she wasn’t and wants to prove that you need to prove yourself in the ring. Wren Sinclair then shows up and talks about how she needs to make a name for herself. Sinclair then slaps Jordan and runs away.
We then see Luca Crucifino, Adriana Rizzo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo trying to give Tony D’Angelo his confidence back. Tony D’Angelo then yells and admits he was afraid of Oba Femi. D’Angelo then says Oba is a machine and not human. D’Angelo then says he can’t beat Oba.
No Quarter Catch Crew then make their way down to the ring for the next match of the night and Je’von Evans and Cedric Alexander are already in the ring.
The match starts off with Evans wasting no time in going after Tavion Heights. Alexander and Myles Borne then begin brawling before Heights and Borne double team on Alexander and Heights wears him down with a submission hold. Borne and Evans then tag in and Evans hits a Sliced Bread on Borne using Alexander as a launching pad. Alexander and Evans then send both Borne and Heights crashing to the outside and Evans flies over the top to land on both men and Dempsey. Borne then wears Evans down in the ring and hits him with a scoop powerslam. Borne then goes for a pin, but Evans kicks out. Heights then tags in and double teams on Evans with Borne, but Evans nails Heights with a right hand. Alexander then tags in and hits a Dragon Screw on Heights, then follows it up with a right hand on him in the corner and a dropkick before hitting a Michinoku Driver. Borne then tags in as Heights gets Alexander up on his shoulders. Heights then hits a Fallaway Slam on Alexander as Borne hits him with a neckbreaker. Kelani Jordan then appears and begins brawling with Sinclair after the backstage verbal confrontation between them earlier tonight and Alexander hits a Lumbar Check on Borne in the ring. Evans then tags in and climbs to the top, then hits a Tornillo on Borne for the win.

Ridge Holland was then interviewed and he says he will continue to take out Chase U by taking out Riley Osborne. The camera then pans over to Shawn Spears telling Brooks Jensen that he will accompany him to the ring.
Dion Lennox then makes his way down to the ring for the next match of the night and Brooks Jensen and Shawn Spears are already waiting inside.
The match starts off with Jensen throwing Lennox across the ring twice, but Lennox returns the favor. Lennox then dropkicks Jensen out of the ring and hits him with a spinebuster when he gets back in, then goes for a pin but Jensen kicks out. Jensen then hits a back suplex on Lennox and delivers some right hands on him before he hits a suplex on him and grabs Lennox’s glasses. Jensen then puts them on and mocks Lennox, but Lennox gets fired up. Lennox then delivers some right hands on Jensen and nails him, then follows it up with a back body drop. Spears then looks to take Lennox’s glasses, but Lennox stops him and rolls up Jensen. Jensen then kicks out and hits a belly-to-belly suplex on Lennox for the win.

We then get a promo from Wes Lee via Instagram, where he talks about taking out Trey Miguel due to Miguel costing him the match at No Mercy.
Fatal Influence then make their way down to the ring for the next match of the night and Lola Vice follows.
The match starts off with Vice wasting no time in going after Jayne. Vice hits Jayne with a couple of kicks on her midsection, sending her crashing to the outside with a second one. Jazmyn Nyx and Fallon Henley then get in Vice’s face and Jayne takes advantage. Jayne then sends Vice back in the ring and mocks her, then hits her with a cannonball in the corner and goes for a pin, but Vice kicks out. Vice then delivers a series of rapid kicks on Jayne, then follows it up with a Hip Attack in the corner and the 305 for the win.

After the match, Henley and Nyx attack Vice. Henley then holds Vice in place for Nyx to deliver some kicks on her and Jayne joins them. Jaida Parker then makes her way down to the ring to even the odds, then hits a Hip Attack on Henley. Parker then sends Nyx out of the ring and sends Jayne crashing into the mat face first. Henley and Nyx then pull Jayne out of the ring. Vice then gets in Parker’s face for helping her, but Parker almost accidentally nails her before she realizes that it’s Vice rather than Fatal Influence.
We then head to the back and see Adriana Rizzo show up and tell Tony D’Angelo that she’s also afraid of Oba Femi. Rizzo then talks about how when it’s all said and done, he’ll still have the family. Rizzo then says she knows Tony D’Angelo wants another title shot against Oba. Rizzo then says she, Stacks and Luca believe in Tony D’Angelo, but Tony D’Angelo needs to believe in himself. Tony D’Angelo and Rizzo then hug to end the segment.
Tyrese Halliburton was then shown walking through the hallways with the NXT Championship Match contract in hand.
Tyrese Haliburton is in the ring and he starts off by saying he is here to make sure Trick Williams and Ethan Page put pen to paper for their October 1 match and he brought back up in his Indiana Pacers teammates. Haliburton then introduces Williams and Page and they both make their way down to the ring. Williams then signs the contract as Page enters the ring and Page tells Williams he gave him an out earlier tonight. Page then says if Williams wants to force him to sign the contract, then he’ll do it. Page then calls himself the Boston Celtics of NXT Champions and tells Williams that he’ll be like the Indiana Pacers and the rest of the NBA when he retains his NXT Championship. Page then signs the contract and Haliburton says he forgot one more thing and CM Punk’s music hits. Punk then makes his way out and informs both Williams and Page that the announcement he looked to make earlier tonight concerned them both. Punk then informs Williams and Page that he will be the special guest referee in their NXT Championship on October 1. Punk then encourages both men to fight and they begin brawling with each other. Security guards and officials then make their way down to the ring to break the two men apart as they continue yelling at each other and the show comes to a close.
