Mercedes Mone’s impact on AEW has been profound since her arrival, quickly becoming a key figure in the promotion. She also has a good relationship with Megan Thee Stallion and it appears they had an agreement to work together before Stallion landed her current deal with WWE.

WWE SmackDown made a major impact with its return to the USA Network on September 13, 2024, debuting a new theme song called “Neva Play,” performed by Megan Thee Stallion and RM of BTS.

According to a report by PWInsider, there were initial expectations for Megan Thee Stallion to collaborate with Mercedes Mone in All Elite Wrestling. In February, Megan Thee Stallion and Mercedes Mone met at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards in Japan, beginning negotiations between Megan’s manager Mike B of Roc Nation and Mone’s manager Keven Undergaro.

Mone mentioned the idea of working with Stallion while promoting AEW All In: London, suggesting they might team up in AEW. However, WWE secured Stallion’s song for SmackDown, which surprised Mone and her team and could potentially end any plans for a Mone-Stallion partnership.

Megan Thee Stallion also suggested that her WWE debut could be near. It is to be noted that Mercedes Mone recently still had plans to form a tag team with Megan Thee Stallion, but that may not happen anymore. Regardless, only time will tell whether a deal between AEW and Megan Thee Stallion will ever come to fruition now.
