The September 16 WWE RAW at Portland, Oregon’s Moda Center delivered a packed and exciting night. With a sold-out crowd and momentum building toward Bad Blood, the show was primed to deliver.
On the September 9 episode of RAW, Jey Uso won a fatal four-way match against Pete Dunne, Ilja Dragunov, and Braun Strowman to earn a shot at Bron Breakker’s Intercontinental Championship. Jey will face Breakker on the September 23 episode of RAW.
Jey Uso had plenty to say during this week’s show, never one to hold back. Recently, he’s even hinted at the possibility of crossing paths with Roman Reigns again.
During the episode, Jey had a backstage segment with Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley. Ripley playfully made eyes at Jey and even said “Yeet” when he walked away. There was mutual respect between Priest and Jey, with Xavier Woods also stepping in to show his support for Jey.
Later, Finn Balor confronted Rhea Ripley, claiming he told Dominik Mysterio to leave her for Liv Morgan. Jey intervened, asking if there was an issue, and shared a light-hearted moment, joking about Ripley being out of his league. Then it was time for Jey to address the WWE Universe.
Jey Uso took to the ring, and the crowd was fully behind him, chanting “Yeet” in support. He delivered a promo expressing his desire for the Intercontinental Championship, a goal he set after leaving The Bloodline. The crowd continued chanting as he spoke.
Bron Breakker interrupted, asking if there were any “dogs barking” in Portland, to which the crowd responded enthusiastically. Breakker reminded Jey that he warned him to stay away, and fans continued their chants throughout his speech. Breakker then claimed that in six months as a singles competitor, he’d accomplished more than Jey did in an entire year. He declared that the IC Title was his focus, and he would expose Jey as “nothing without your family.”
Jey removed his sunglasses and acknowledged Breakker’s toughness, but reminded him that he’s been on the main roster for 14 years, while Breakker was still in diapers. Jey then promised to “dog walk your ass” on RAW next week. In a personal jab, Jey also took a shot at Breakker’s short-lived NFL career, which commentator Joe Tessitore later clarified, mentioning Breakker didn’t make the Ravens team.
The segment ended with Breakker landing a cheap shot on Jey, but Jey quickly retaliated with a spear, leaving things heated ahead of their showdown. Next week’s match promises to be a must-see.
