WWE Hall of Famer JBL shocked the wrestling world many times during his in-ring career. Now that he is retired, it seems that he is still keeping fans on the edge of their seats.

JBL’s appearance in GCW marked a rare venture into the independent wrestling scene for the WWE legend, and it’s just the latest in a string of surprising appearances. Earlier, JBL was seen alongside Nic Nemeth at AAA’s Triplemania event, raising eyebrows about his current status in the wrestling world.

According to Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select’s Backstage Report podcast, JBL’s presence at GCW felt like a “hell freezing over” moment, especially given the rocky history between the independent promotion and other mainstream wrestling companies.

“He’s been popping up a little bit of everywhere. The best I know he doesn’t have a WWE contract. I was told that was like a ‘Hell freezing over’ moment for MLW, because they had had a lot of issues in the past, but everything seems to be on the up and up with them”

JBL, who is not currently under a WWE contract, seems to be exploring new horizons, popping up at various promotions and taking part in some unexpected moments. It seems that he is certainly having a lot of fun, as he recently said he doesn’t want to be remembered for the short program he had with Baron Corbin.

As JBL continues to appear in unexpected places, fans are left wondering where the WWE Hall of Famer will show up next, but one thing is certain: his GCW appearance was a moment fans won’t forget anytime soon.

Game Changer Wrestling currently has 8 events on their schedule, and you can find out information for tickets here. You never know which ones JBL will show up during.
