WWE is undergoing major changes, particularly with its television programming. Starting in 2025, RAW will move to Netflix, and in an unexpected twist, the red brand’s traditionally three-hour show will be trimmed down by one hour. At this point, we still don’t know how this may change once they move to Netflix.

Fans have long debated whether RAW would benefit from a shorter runtime, and starting October 7, they’ll get to find out. WWE has officially announced that RAW will transition to a two-hour format, marking a significant shift for the flagship show.

During his Backstage Report Podcast on Fightful Select, Sean Ross Sapp spoke about WWE’s future plan. At this point, we know that USA Network will keep SmackDown as a two-hour show, but things still seem to be up in the air with Netflix.

“WWE has not confirmed the WWE Raw run time in 2025 as of yet. We did ask last Monday when the Raw news emerged. They were quick to confirm Smackdown would remain at 2 hours, but didn’t comment on Raw.”

We previously reported that the news of RAW’s hour reduction caught many behind the scenes off guard. Production and social media staff reportedly learned about the change “in real time” alongside the public. Additionally, there are hints that WWE could make further adjustments when the show moves to Netflix in 2025, allowing for greater flexibility with run times.

Netflix could really let WWE do whatever they want on their streaming service. Apart from being uncensored, the streaming giant could also let them make RAW as long or short as they want on a weekly basis. In all honesty, the weekly time of the red brand could shift from week to week.

We will keep a very close eye on WWE RAW’s move to Netflix. The rest of their time on the USA Network will be trimmed down by an hour, which may help the show as they provide a more condensed program. Check out this link for more information on how to sign up for Netflix.
