The September 16 episode of WWE Monday Night RAW took place at Portland, Oregon’s Moda Center, as the road to their upcoming Bad Blood event on October 5 in Atlanta continued. CM Punk returned to open the show with a powerful promo ahead of his Hell in a Cell match against Drew McIntyre.

The Best in the World addressed the crowd with a somber but determined tone, revealing that many ask him how much longer he plans to wrestle. He assured them that he had more matches left than anyone expected, but his upcoming Hell in a Cell match with McIntyre could be one of his last.

CM Punk admitted that his family urged him not to take part in the match, yet he was resolute in his decision. He vowed to make McIntyre bleed in the unforgiving structure and promised to fight until the very end, even if it meant risking everything.

It seems that Drew McIntyre was listening to every word delivered by CM Punk very carefully despite not being on RAW tonight. The Scottish Warrior took to his X to respond, claiming that this is the version of CM Punk he wants at WWE Bad Blood.

McIntyre was seen watching RAW in his home, reflecting on their 32-week-long rivalry, which he claimed to do all the heavy lifting for. While mocking Punk for his time off, Drew clarified that he did not take time off and was requested by the management to stay at home in their bid to protect the main event of WWE Bad Blood. McIntyre claimed that he took the week off to spend time with his family while also mentioning that Punk has only one match left in his career, and one of them would not walk out of Hell in a Cell in three weeks.

“I just watched what he said, the look in his eyes, that’s man looking to go all the way. Tried to hurt me, but a man going on his back. 32 weeks now this has been going on and I have been doing the heavy lifting. Obviously, you got a nice litte break, time-off to spend with your wife and stupid looking dog. I didn’t get any time-off, I was begged to stay home this week because the brass worried about the main event at Bad Blood and it was to happen tonight and I took it because I want a week off, you know. Want to spend some time with my wife, my cats … that’s the man I have been waiting to see. I can tell you how many matches you have left … one. I can make you a promise too. One of us is not walking out Hell in a Cell. Now I am going to enjoy my week-off. Glad to see you show up Phil.”

With Bad Blood looming, the feud between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre has added even more anticipation to what could be a career-defining match for both him and McIntyre at WWE Bad Blood in Atlanta, Georgia.
