CM Punk and Drew McIntyre clashed in a brutal Strap Match at Bash in Berlin, with Punk emerging victorious. However, their rivalry is far from over, even as Punk takes some well-earned time off.

Fans noticed Punk’s absence from the September 9 episode of WWE RAW, held at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta. While Drew McIntyre referenced Punk’s absence during the show, it was all part of the storyline.

According to Sean Ross Sapp on his Backstage Report podcast, Punk had always been scheduled to be off that night. So Punk missing the show had nothing to do with the strap match.

On that episode of RAW, McIntyre addressed the WWE Universe, encouraging fans to chant for CM Punk, calling each chant a tribute to him. McIntyre recounted their Strap Match but accused Punk of costing him the World Heavyweight Championship three times. He boasted about pinning Punk at SummerSlam and claimed to have ended Punk’s career, though he conceded that he made Punk a bigger star.

As McIntyre shifted focus to his future, WWE RAW General Manager Adam Pearce interrupted to announce that Punk wasn’t done with McIntyre. Pearce revealed a Hell in a Cell match between the two at Bad Blood, leaving McIntyre visibly displeased.

WWE Bad Blood is set for October 5 at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena, with tickets selling fast. If you’re interested in attending, now’s the time to act!
