AEW has many stars who are slowly gaining more popularity with each passing week and this includes even Big Bill. He truly reinvented himself over the years after overcoming many personal issues and it appears Big Bill believes he has a second chance in life after overcoming his issues.

Big Bill had several issues related to his mental health that ultimately made him take a long hiatus from pro wrestling. At one time he considered not returning to the pro wrestling world due to his addiction issues.

Big Bill, who is now four years sober, is making strides both personally and professionally. While speaking during a recent interview with Barstool Rasslin, Bill talked about how his life has transformed for the better since achieving sobriety and his plans for a celebration early next year.

“Man, it got real bad there for a while,” Bill said when reflecting on his personal life before sobriety. “Obviously, I’ve been pretty open about my problems, and my alcoholism was horrendous. Now, four years sober, going to be coming up five years sober around the Super Bowl…it’s been quite the journey.”

Professionally, Bill is also experiencing a positive shift. He mentioned that despite the ups and downs of his career, he feels he’s on an upswing and sees his sobriety as a second chance not just in wrestling, but in life. He emphasized the importance of hard work and dedication, noting that while success might take time, it eventually comes to those who persist.

“I mean, my career, you know, ups and the downs, and now, I’m definitely on an upswing. I feel like now I have a second chance…not just at wrestling, but a second chance at life,” Bill added. “I got to put 100 percent into everything I’m doing, and at work, it’s like don’t complain, put your head down, work hard, do what you’re told, and eventually, it’s going to pay off. I think it’s hard to see that sometimes, but it always works out for those people…It may take longer than you expect, but it’s going to happen.”

Big Bill continues to be a huge part of AEW programming alongside Chris Jericho and fans couldn’t be happier to see him turn his life around in such a way after falling into such a deep pi in the past.
