AEW and NJPW have built a lot of momentum thanks to their collaboration and even STARDOM is a big part of their partnership now. That’s why it’s no surprise that Toni Storm made an appearance at the recent STARDOM event and issued a title challenge.

During STARDOM Namba Grand Fight, Toni Storm decided to shock fans in a big way with a surprise appearance. Toni Storm sent in a video message, expressing her deep connection to Japanese wrestling and the milestones she’s achieved.

Storm recalled her 2017 World of Stardom Championship win but mentioned that some have dismissed it as a fluke. Determined to prove otherwise, she announced her next big challenge: on October 5th in Nagoya, she will face Mayu Iwatani for the IWGP Women’s Championship.

“I have accomplished a lot in Japan and have a lot of respect for Japanese professional wrestling. I have things I need to do in Japan. In 2017, I became the World of Stardom Champion. But some people say that it was just an accident. I will prove that it wasn’t. On October 5th in Nagoya, I will challenge Mayu Iwatani for the IWGP Women’s Championship!”
