WWE has brought in some Hall of Famers for roles after their in-ring retirement. Someone like Kurt Angle could be very beneficial in a managerial position, and there are some Superstars that he’s down to represent.
Kurt Angle recently addressed the possibility of returning to WWE, particularly in a managerial capacity, during a virtual signing with K&S WrestleFest. When asked if he could envision himself managing a faction, Angle didn’t rule it out—if the circumstances were right. After all, he turned down a chance to manage Matt Riddle years ago.
Kurt Angle hinted that he’d consider returning to manage a group like Chad Gable’s current stable, American Made, which includes the Creed Brothers and Ivy Nile. He praised the faction, noting that managing them would be a great fit. However, Angle emphasized that if he were to return, it would be for a limited role, adding that while he could still take a few bumps, a full-fledged wrestling match is off the table.
“If the money was right (I would come back to manage a faction)… The spot (matters too), yeah, definitely. I think Chad (Gable) and his gang that he has right now, that would be a great idea.
“I wouldn’t mind doing a spot here and there. But, if you’re gonna ask me to do a wrestling match, it’s just not gonna happen. Yeah, I could take some bumps.”
American Made has seen recent success in their feud with American Alpha, although they’ve struggled against the dominant Wyatt Sicks faction in multiple matches. Angle’s potential involvement could provide the group with a legendary boost.
Despite leaving the door open for a managerial role, Angle made it clear that he has no interest in becoming a trainer at WWE’s NXT. He explained that he’s enjoying his retirement, spending time with his family, and dedicating himself to philanthropic work. Angle is heavily involved with USA Wrestling, helping raise funds for U.S. Olympic athletes so they can train full-time for the Games.
Though Angle’s in-ring career is behind him, his potential return as a manager for a faction like American Made would certainly excite fans. For now, though, the WWE legend remains focused on his post-wrestling life and charitable efforts.
