WWE NXT is set to make its highly anticipated debut on the CW Network on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, bringing with it not only a stacked card but also a significant new rule. They have a lot of ambitious plans, and fans can expect a major shift as the show moves from its previous home on the USA Network, with one notable change being the elimination of overruns.

The premiere episode will be packed with excitement, including the appearance of CM Punk, already confirmed for the night. In addition, two championship matches are scheduled, along with a highly anticipated street fight between TNA Wrestling’s Zachary Wentz and Wes Lee. The event promises to be a must-watch for wrestling fans, as WWE looks to make a strong first impression on their new network.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, one of the biggest changes with NXT’s move to CW is the strict end time of 9:59 p.m., due to many CW stations running news at 10 p.m. Meltzer explained, “We’re told another change in the show with the move on 10/1 is that it has to end at 9:59 p.m. because so many of the CW stations have news at 10 p.m., so no more overruns.”

In addition to the confirmed matches and changes, there are rumors circulating that the Motor City Machine Guns may be making their debut on the October 1 episode of WWE NXT, adding even more excitement to the show.

WWE RAW will move to Netflix in January 2025. The move will bring a more flexible run-time to the Monday night show, as well as the inclusion of adverts on the streaming platform. The RAW brand will be moving to a two-hour show starting on October 7, a decision that blindsided some internally.

With NXT’s big move to CW and changes on the horizon for WWE programming, fans have a lot to look forward to in the coming months. The CW was around NXT before the September 10 episode to interview fans. We will have to wait and see what is in store, so keep checking back with Ringside News for more details.
