Swerve Strickland, renowned for his exceptional wrestling skills and commanding presence in AEW, faced a significant challenge at AEW All Out. Following the match, he was written off television and now his status for AEW WrestleDream has been revealed.
The former AEW World Champion was utterly decimated by Adam Page, who used a hypodermic needle and a brutal chair shot to the head to finish off Swerve Strickland. It was then reported that Swerve Strickland would be taking time off AEW television following All Out.
AEW WrestleDream is set for Tacoma, Washington on Saturday, October 12th, and will be broadcast live from the Tacoma Dome. Obviously, there’s just a month until the show, and fans wonder if Swerve Strickland will be there for the event.
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, despite the WrestleDream pay-per-view being set in Swerve’s hometown of Tacoma, WA, his participation in the event is not guaranteed. Dave Meltzer noted that Swerve “might not” be making an appearance at the show.
Hometown fans would most definitely be disappointed if Swerve Strickland doesn’t actually make an appearance at WrestleDream in some capacity, but many feel that Strickland more than deserves an extended break after all he did this year. Therefore, we’ll have to wait and see if Strickland will ultimately miss AEW WrestleDream next month.
