Status of WWE’s Deal with Hulu After RAW Netflix Move Revealed

WWE content has been available on various streaming services over the past several years, leading to accessibility issues for some viewers. The partnership between WWE and Hulu has faced increasing scrutiny, and now the status of their deal has been clarified following the announcement that RAW will be moving to Netflix.

WWE’s Friday Night SmackDown will return to the USA Network on Friday, September 13, 2024 as part of the new five-year deal between WWE and USA Network. That’s not the only huge deal WWE has managed to secure as well.

Earlier this year, WWE and Netflix confirmed their huge deal to move Monday Night RAW to the streaming service, which will begin in January 2025. The reported deal, valued at over $5 billion for a duration of ten years, shocked fans all over the world.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, SmackDown’s streaming contract with Hulu will conclude this week, and starting the next day, SmackDown will be available on Peacock. Meanwhile, the current deal for Raw will remain on Hulu until the end of the year. After that, Raw will transition to Netflix, where it will become the exclusive streaming home for the show.

“Regarding Hulu and WWE, Smackdown’s contract with Hulu ends this week and the next day streaming of Smackdown will move to Peacock. However, the Raw deal we were told will continue on Hulu until the end of the year when it moves to Netflix as the exclusive streaming home for that show.”

WWE is clearly going through a lot of changes and that is the only constant in life. WWE and Hulu have been working together for a long time, but that partnership will be ending after this year and fans will have to accept that fact.
