Speculation on Def Rebel’s Tenure with WWE Coming to an End

WWE shows and superstars have very critical details when it comes to their characters and presentations, i.e., the captivating music and themes produced for them. Def Rebel, which has been a long-time music producer for the global juggernaut, might be at the finish line of their tenure with WWE.

According to Cory of PW Nexus on X, WWE plans to involve more mainstream artists in producing theme music, similar to how they operated in the past. This does not mean that Def Rebel will be phased out immediately, but WWE is reportedly looking to diversify the music contributors involved in their product.

PW Nexus shared additional insights through their Discord server, noting that there have been “rumblings” about Def Rebel’s contract potentially not being renewed once it ends. While this hasn’t been confirmed, the report suggests WWE is exploring options to incorporate more outside artists alongside their in-house producers like Def Rebel.

“We’ve heard rumblings that Def Rebel will not have their contracts renewed when it ends. We’re trying to reach out to figure out when that is exactly and to add more confirmation to this. This is not set as fact yet, and until further confirmation, take it as a grain of salt. This adds to the report by Cory, where WWE is looking to utilize more outside artists more and more.”

DJDTP, the music production company operating under the pseudonym Def Rebel, has been creating theme music for WWE since 2019. Lately, however, they have been jazzing up some superstar entrances and themes in a way disliked by a major part of the audience which WWE has been aware of.

For now, Def Rebel remains involved in WWE’s music production, but fans could expect more contributions from mainstream artists moving forward as part of WWE’s strategy to makes significant changes, so we will have to wait and see what happens.
