Jey Uso has been a fan favorite on Monday Night RAW, performing well as a good guy. Even though he’s been impressive, he hasn’t won many important matches. His father, Rikishi, has criticized WWE for how they’ve been using Jey, even suggesting that Jey might think about joining AEW if things don’t improve. Recently, Rikishi explained that he was just worried about his son as a father and isn’t really pushing for Jey to leave WWE.

Although he’s delivered impressive performances, he has yet to capture a singles title. His participation in the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match didn’t see him pick up the win, but Jey Uso continues to be a prominent and influential presence on Monday Night Raw.

Rikishi has been vocal about how his son, Jey Uso, has been booked recently. Recently, Rikishi suggested that Jey should consider taking a break. He also pointed out that WWE isn’t the only option for Jey if he decides to explore other opportunities, especially AEW.

“It’s a concern. At the end of the day, these are our bodies and this is my flesh and blood. My flesh and blood is pounding his body day in and day out. He has a family and comes home aching, his body is hurting. He’ll never sell it because he’s not trained to quit. You sign that dotted line, I’m not talking about that contract, that dotted line for you and yours. That’s bigger than the purpose of WWE. The kid is so good, WWE ain’t the only spot. He could probably go to AEW if he wants to write his own ticket, maybe more than what WWE is making on him. Hopefully, they turn it around and do the right thing by The Yeet Man.”

While speaking the latest episode of his Off The Top podcast, Rikishi was asked about Jacob Fatu giving up his WWE Tag Team Championship on Solo Sikoa’s orders. During the discussion, Rikishi addressed the backlash over his previous criticism of WWE.

“I can’t even call it. When was the last time you’ve ever seen anything like that? I’m a fan now. I don’t even want to say anything no more because every time I say something, I make news, and then people twist my words, like I’m against WWE. I’m not against WWE. Why would I be against WWE?”

Rikishi expressed frustration over how his comments are often twisted, clarifying that he’s not against WWE. He emphasized that WWE has always been home to the Samoan Dynasty, and they have no plans to leave. He also stressed that he never said Jey Uso should leave WWE, and asked that his words be quoted accurately in the future.

“If you’re gonna talk about what I said, please make sure you put down exact, don’t twist my words around. I’m gonna say it again, WWE is The Dynasty’s home, period. We are not going nowhere, we don’t plan to go nowhere. The past, present, and future. Give me a YEET on that.”

Jey Uso is currently the #1 contender to the Intercontinental Championship, so we will have to wait and see if he will end up becoming a singles champion for the first time in his career, as Rikishi would more than love that.
